Nice grey linen style fabric for the base material
The fabric with flowery embroidery is actually very pale mauve,sorry for the bad photo!!! Northern light.................. And for the surprise effect...............................................................
Giraffe fake fur, yummy soft fabric for the interieur to keep books nice and warm ;) OR jolie damask style fabric in mauve for a more classic approach. Which one do you prefer?
Do you like the unfinished frayed look or would you prefer clean seams?

i think the giraffe is the best, and i think you should go with neat seams, but perhaps a little frayed in the detail. sorry this is so late, i only read it properly now!

i chickened out and bought a ready made tote...
i will have to add some padding to it, it's just plain canvas...
can't wait to see your handmade goodness!
