Christmas project 1

In the series "Is it christmas yet mummy?"

And the usual response, " Very soon my little ones"

Voila the gingerbread house we made with the English club this friday!!!

Lots of fun :) and candy munching!!!!

And even though this may look quite hap hazard and simple there's quite a bit of "technicity" in the whole engineering and architecture of this yummy project ;)
Go on ..........you can do it!!!

The cowboy has gone!

Do you remember the cowboy story? Well this is what happened! I wallpapered and put a little swiss secretaire which my daughter uses to write her "memoires"!! This is what you see when you go up the stairs..........

And this is what you see when you're upstairs!
Quite a happy sort of "baroque" paper dont you think?
I'm wondering if I should buy that lovely print i saw on ETSY the other day to go to the left of the chair? Mmmmm, I wonder!

The Window

After a week of frantic work I have finally dressed the window of the "Maison de commerce" of our little town! This is a great advertisement for my associtin Atelier de Beaumont and I'm quite happy about the result even though the photos here are not the best!

What's cooking chicken?

A couple of years ago my husband made this little oven for our girls.

It was a christmas gift totally up-cycled using an abandoned cupboard.

With a coat of paint , 4 little wheels and a bit of imagination here's a toy that has already lasted longer than it's" plastic cousins"!!! And has literally provided hours of creative play!!

So Long Cowboy

When my boys were young and they all slept in the same room I painted a mural of their then hero, Lucky Luke!

Some of you might know him. He's a wild ,lonesome cowboy!!
Well to get to the point :last week my husband put up walls to make two bedroom's so each boy can have their own intimacy! And hopefully stop a bit of that brotherly fueding!!!!!! Am I dreaming?
So now lucky luke is in what is now the hallway.................So we'll be saying, "We loved you cowboy but it's time to say GOOD-BYE:)!"
Stay in tune to find out what wonderful and interesting projects I have for this wall!!!!!

Having fun

Yesterday I was on a roll!
A sewing roll! These are the results!!!
I grabbed one of my sons sweat shirts which was still in good condition but the zipper gave up on it and ruthlessly cut it up to make one cushion
and one "Health book" cover (the Frenchies will know what it is!)
What Do you think? I'll be puting them up on my Etsy shop soon.........
It's SO satisfying to take somthing that would otherwise go in the rubbish and turn it into something useful;)

Puss-in-boots take 2

I went for a walk in my garden today and what did I see?

Someone with big boots! Was it puss-in-boots?

She did not say!

Puss in boots

I wanted to tell you of my astonishing encounter with a special creature but I seem to have misplaced the photographic proof!!
Get back to you on that one................................................

BUT for now I'd like to present to you the "shopping duo" I've made with this wonderful fabric which I brought some time ago! I love it !

Don't you think it looks really French? Like think "toile de JOUY"!

I also made this bib for "droolers" which I hope to put soon in my ETSY shop.

Happy postman

Look what arrived today
.........so beautifully wrapped!
I've been waiting for these stamps for my French association and they are just lovely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I found them on Etsy sellersname FORYOO. And I realised once again how precious and important it is to by from individuals and not, mass produced enterprises.
You really do get a better deal!

Anybody out there?

I've been making a whole lot of cushions for my Etsy shop and for my French Association "L'Atelier de Beaumont"! My house at the moment actually looks a right mess!!!

I have also managed to make........... what i think a quite groovy.......... jacket for my youngest daughter Eve; who quite frankly refuses to wear it!!

Now my proposition is ,since it's only going to be sitting in her wardrobe- to put it up for grabs!!!

So if you think your little girl would appreciate this" KENZOish "jacket then here's what you need to do :

Go to my Etsy shop ,come back and tell me which article is your favourite and I'll put your name in the hat for the lucky draw same time next week!

By the way it fits a small size 5 and has reversible sleeves so it could even do a 3 year old!

Friday evenings

Do I hear them cry "One for all and all for one!!!"??

Every friday evening I give English lessons to French kids. It's a really nice time of talking and each child seems to enjoy the hour of total submersion!! I give the lesson in my little Atelier( that is workshop) , which is attached to our home. This allows me to be in touch with the other members of the household all in doing my work.

Oh, have I neglected to tell you that my house is full of princesses and mousquetires! We are 7 at home : 2 princesses and 3 mousquetires!!!! All very charming I must admit ;)

Winter blues

I LOVE flowers!

These pansies sit on my garage window and really bring me a little sense of lightness and joyfulness now that the weather has changed and the days are shorter.

Apart from Christmas and New Year I actually HATE winter!

But I do like being nice and warm in my home next to the fire and drinking lots of hot coffee and tea and nibbling on all kinds of chocolately stuff.

You see, at the dawn of winter I actually transform into a sort of marmotte........

I'm not that brave kind of person who goes fearlessly into the cold and wind like my sister who lives on that green, wet and gloriously pretty isle of Ireland! Oh no I'll have none of that .

What I need is CHOCOLATE!!!

Definately not good for the figure but oh so comforting to the cold soul!!
