Recently my husband discovered a wonderful path in the middle of a rambling nature 5 minutes awy from us!!
Now the kids ask him " papa can we go to your paradise?"
And it's always a releif and a moment of relaxation as we walk surrounded by green and the only sound that of birds and other foresty creatures!

Climbing on bunkers........................................well it's not really, quite paradise you know!!

Madhatters' tea party

Carrot cake, chocolate mice, cold beer, ravenous kids............................................

Last week-end we were invited to a mad-hatters 1st birthday party in Ireland! Everything was yummy and my sister organised everything so beautifully. There was tea and cup cakes and Pimms Punch! Tophats and meringues. Sauceages and other savouries.........................

The little Poppy and her Irish nanna ! Looks like they were having fun!
Jumping around in a parachute????! Uncle Eric and cousin Zach.......................................Two hours later!
After a whirl-wind trip to Ireland for my neices' first birthday I realised that we had brought home with us a little man! A lepricorn to be exact.
Here he is at our front door step!
But what is he doing behind my birthday "patisseries"!!!!

Muesli

Everybody knows muesli is Swiss ,right?!!!! Well when we go to Switzerland at least twice a year my in-laws always make "Bircher Muesli" for breakfast! According to them it's the best way to start the day with!!
So what's the difference between "Muesli" as we non- Swiss know it and "Bircher Muesli" ?

For me the difference is that "Bircher" has fresh fruit and yoghurt along with all the grains and dried fruit and nuts! And that's as easy as it gets!!! My kids usually fight to make it !
Use whatever fruit you have on hand , chop into small pieces, add your fave yoghurt (we use natural)and stir. Easy ,hein? If you like you can add a dribble of honey or home-made jam!!!
It's not only yummy, it's healthy........now that's unusual isn't it? ;)

Under the weather

EAting outside is so relaxing even on a busy day!

Garden roses smell so sweet;

Feeling sick with the flu today lying around looking out my window and staring at the
flowers in my garden!

Thank the Lord for flowers and sunshine!!

Bienvenue

Love lilies!
This is our music ,entrance, reception room. Our boys play their instruments here. It's the first room you see as you walk into our place.

This mirror comes from my grandmother , I painted it a light grey. It was ofcourse dark wood colour as antiques usually are but I prefer the light and with our northern climate it works better. Those two lamps are from , you guessed it, Ikea! I like the mix of old and new.

Suitcases

My husband and I have a certain attraction to old cardboard suitcases ,how can one explain a particular "love"? The fact is we have quite a collection now, used for storage they are actually quite practical!

Which brings me to the fact that they were looking a little tired and boring UNTIL...... the splendid idea to cover them in lovely silk paper came to my mind!!!

Here in photo are the results of just two fine specimans. Hope you enjoy!

More to come.................................................................
