Chez nous

Did I ever tell you that we painted our house? Well here are a couple of images of our house after 3 coats of paint! It's so difficult to get the right colour, so much depends on the direction that the house is facing ,the greenery around the house , the colour of the footpath etc etc. But after a lot of patience and hard work on  behalf of my husband it's done and we are really happy with the result.

I would like to have a grey/white gravel pathway but I think I'll have to wait a little longer for that!

Patience patience!

jungle Jess

Today I want to take you on a "sneak peak " of my youngest sons' bedroom! ?   He's really into animals. Big and small. He can watch a colony of ants at work for hours. He wants to be a biologist and spend his whole day observing LIFE!

That's why when I asked how he would like me to decorate his room he said ,"Jungle" ! Well my mural is more like a forest but he says it's great. That's what counts right

There are a pair of eyes in the tree trunk..........

Even the lamp ( created by my clever husband) has beasties on it!

Changes

I'm having a "minimaliste" phase at the moment! I want to clean up everything and get rid of everything ! I've had these black tins for a while they are "pannetone" boxes which are sold here for christmas which I painted black and glued on hand made labels! People often ask me why some labels I've marked in French and some in English. I guess I'm bi-lingual!!!!

I prefer this cleaner "salon de thé" look than all my little tea cups I had before :)

Just when you think the fun and sun is all over Autumn surprises you with bursts of colour! I love Autumn !

Kitchen corner

Here's an "after" photo of a corner in my kitchen that i have never liked sorry i don't have a "before "shot as it really was worst than this. (this photo is crooked or I have a slanting floor!!!!)

I painted the chest of drawers the same colour (nearly) as the shelf which we bought for a steal! Ideally I would have liked a closed glass cabinet to keep the dust away from my favourite tea cups but this shelf is so "charmant" n'est pas?!

You wanna see my room?

These iron beds are real old ones and you can find them nearly every where here: amazing hein! I had a bed similar to these as I grew up in Australia and my sister too! Who says history doesn't repeat!!!?
Here's a couple of snap shots of the "chambre" of my little princesses! I took advantage of the unusual tidyness!

This doona cover is made with some vintage yardage i found at the local thrift shop! Nobody wants "vintage" here in France for the moment ( it is coming though) so I'm having a feild day finding stuff for nearly nothing!!!! Sarah you have to come over for a shopping spree!!

Hope you liked the visit! do come and play again:)

Hello to all those lovely bloggers that I've been oooing and aahing for nearly a year ( how time flies ) !

I love everything that's got to do with the home and it's decoration: I'm actually accro and my husband will confirm what I have just wrote!! That's why, apart from my massive magazine collection, I am seen surfing on the web and on the blog pages!!! And why now I come to you to share my home and lifestyle to maybe be a little inspiration for you ..............maybe , here goes for the blogging adventure!!!!!
